Introduction

University of Transport and Communications is the largest and oldest technical state university in Vietnam's transport field. In fact, it founded in around the year 1918 under the French government in Vietnam and was re-opened under the revolutionary power on November 15th, 1945, named then Vietnam College of Public Works under the decree of President Ho Chi Minh and decrees of the Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Transport.

At present, in 2017, there is a total of 1,300 staff working at the University of Transport and Communications, of which 900 are lecturers including 70 professors and associate professors, 217 doctors and scientific-doctors, 483 masters in charge of managing and educating 22,000 undergraduate and post-graduate students. Annually, lecturers and scientists of the University of Transport and Communications implement hundreds of research projects at different levels to contribute to the development of science and technology in the transport sector in Vietnam.
