New Hampshire Institute of Art

Introduction

New Hampshire Institute of Art is a four-year, degree-granting, not-for-profit college of visual art, design, and writing. NHIA is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. NHIA offers a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in the following concentrations: Ceramics, Creative Writing, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interdisciplinary Arts, and Photography. The College also offers a studio-focused Master of Arts in Art Education (MAAE), as well as low-residency Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Degree programs in Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Photography, and Writing for Stage and Screen. Dedicated faculty promote intellectual and artistic development and teach students to respond artistically to contemporary social, political, and aesthetic issues.

The New Hampshire village of Peterborough, one of the leading small arts communities in America, and the adjacent village of Sharon, both located in the foothills of the famous Mt. Monadnock serve as the beautiful, secluded hub for the residencies and offer the ideal atmosphere for artists.
