The Department of European Studies “Jean Monnet“ was created by the Department of Economics of the State University of Rijeka and the Department of Medicine of the State University of Osijek in partnership with the Locarno subsidiary of Zaklada Europa, a non-profit Foundation under Croatian law since 2013, which will act as manager to facilitate implementation of the European Center for Education and Research. Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies are hel… [+] d by the State Universities of Rijeka and Osijek in collaboration with Italian Universities; the Universities of Rijeka and Osijek will award Croatian diplomas following positive results of exams and final thesis of students of the Department of European Studies. In October and November 2016, candidates will need to pass an admissions test for available placement in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses of the Croatian Universities which will be held in Locarno. Those who successfully complete the admissions test and are in compliance with the administrative formalities as required by the Department of European Studies and the Croatian State Universities will be enrolled in the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies. Classes will be held in English; lessons will be provided in classrooms and by on-line teaching; students who are not able to follow the classroom instruction for family or work reasons will be able to follow theoretical courses online.
