HDK-Valand – Academy of Design and Crafts, University of Gothenburg

HDK-Valand in Gothenburg is situated in the middle of the city, close to the Röhsska Museum of Design and Crafts.
It is an international study environment with well-equipped workshops close to the arts.

HDK Steneby is a creative cultural and educational environment in Dals Långed, 170 kilometers north of Gothenburg. Surrounded by Swedish pine-trees and lakes, Steneby attracts many International students who look to explore the materials wood, metal and textile.

On January 1, 2020 HDK and Valand Academy merged into one department of Art and Design – a new University department for design and art. Our goal is the formation of a strong arts academy, and our focus: the promotion of cutting-edge research, education and outreach.
