Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) is a research institute promoted by the Government of Aragon in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and assigned to the University of Zaragoza. Founded at the end of 2003, the ZLC campus is located in PLAZA, the largest logistics park in Europe, which serves as a laboratory for the transfer of new knowledge and new processes. The mission of ZLC is to create an international center of excellence in research and education in logistics and SCM that actively participates with the industry and the public sector to develop and disseminate knowledge.
To carry out this mission, ZLC reached an agreement with the Center for Transportation and Logistics of MIT through which the MIT Zaragoza International Logistics Program was created, a unique model of collaboration between industry, administration and university. The success achieved with this agreement gave way to the creation of the MIT Global SCALE Network that already expands on four continents. In addition, Zaragoza Logistics Center participates in various national and international training and research initiatives.
At the state level, ZLC has been recognized as the Research Results Transfer Office (nº 218) since 2008 and is a member of the National Competency Center for Integral Logistics, CNC-LOGISTICA, recognized as such by the Ministry of Education and Science in 2006
In the development of its activity, ZLC has the support of the local entity Ibercaja and the European Social Fund.
