Faculty of Economics is a center with full academic rights, having the right to award Bachelor's, Master's, doctoral, postdoctoral degrees (habilitation) and conducting professors procedures. Applicants wishing to obtain higher education, are able to obtain a broad and thorough knowledge in two fields: Economics and International Economic Relations.

At the second year of study students choose a profile of education in the chosen specialty of study providing qualifications demanded by the modern labor market. The quality of education offered by the Faculty of Economics, provides accredited score by National Accreditation Commission in 2005 and 2011 and 1st position in the province of Pomerania in the ranking of employers.

Knowledge and skills gained during the studies allow accurately formulate research questions, solve economic problems, make effective decisions and facilitate the understanding of economic processes in Poland and abroad. Studies provide professional preparation for action on international and domestic markets in a highly competitive environment.

At the Faculty of Economics, a total of more than 4500 students are studying: 2130 full-time students, 1,850 part-time students, 396 students in 12 types of postgraduate courses (in Polish and English) and 150 doctoral students for doctoral studies in Economics. Doctoral programs are conducted in Polish and English.

The advantage of education at the Faculty of Economics is a wide range of courses in foreign languages and English-language specialty of International Business. Students can benefit from traveling to study abroad under the ERASMUS program - bilateral agreements are signed with over 70 universities and colleges.

Students can benefit from the rich collections of the Main Library in UG Campus, Economic Library located next to the Faculty of Economics.

At the Faculty of Economics there are working: the computer lab Thomson Reuters Data Suite allowing access to the world's leading financial database, dealing room - a simulator of the bank treasury department and specialty laboratory logistics (Oracle, Aris). Students of the Faculty of Economics have 6 computer labs, open computer stations with free internet and WIFI access throughout the Faculty. All the halls and classrooms are equipped with multimedia.

Classes are taught upon world standards, including: business, general and global economy, economic quantitative methods (mathematics, mathematical economics, computer science, statistics, econometrics, accounting), international settlements, organization and management, learning business, politics, civil law, commercial law and a number of courses individually tailored to the specialty.

Specialized research and teaching staff at the Institute of International Business, Institute of Maritime Transport and Seaborne Trade, Chair of Microeconomics, Chair of Macroeconomics, Chair of Economic Policy, Chair of European Integration Economics, Chairs of Transport and Logistics and Research Center of European Integration.

Students are active in scientific associations and other student organizations. In Sopot there are 3 student houses, the Faculty Student buffet. Students can also benefit from scholarships, social and sporting events.

The Faculty of Economics of the UG has participated in the Graduate Barometer 2010. The European Student Barometer has grown to be the largest survey on career, education and employer topics in Europe. More than 850 institutions in 24 countries took part and about 220 000 students answered the survey. The students were asked about their preferences and expectations in their future career, their satisfaction with their university, and the attractiveness of future employers.

Master’s Degree in International Business cements international position of the University of Gdańsk, Faculty of Economics. We believe that many talented international students will choose to complete their degree at the Faculty of Economics, the University of Gdańsk. [+]

Programme structure consists of strong core and major subjects and an interesting range of electives. It will deepen the knowledge of the most specific areas of international relations, such as Transportation and International Logistics, International Public Law, International Human Resources Management, etc. Our programmes will address different issues of globalization, regionalization and intercultural approaches to international business.
