Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow

Introduction

Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow is an ecclesiastical institution with state rights, run by the Province of Southern Poland of the Society of Jesus. The university's activity is based on the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Episcopal Conference. It establishes the legal status of universities founded and run by the Catholic Church, including universities, individual faculties, and diocesan seminaries, as well as the mode and scope of the state recognition of degrees and titles given by those universities (Journal of Laws of 1999, No. 63, item 727).

Ignatianum is one of nearly two hundred Jesuit universities worldwide, known for their prestige and high-quality education. Both departments of our University provide programs of a Master's degree. Also, the third-cycle (doctoral) programs are conducted in both faculties. The Faculty of Education awards the degree of Ph.D. in the disciplines of education and political science. The Faculty of Philosophy offers a doctoral program in humanities, specifically in philosophy and cultural studies.
