The master’s programmes at AKV|St.Joost is designed to mirror the professional realities into which you will emerge. Our curriculum is fluid, interdisciplinary and self-driven. The student’s independent research and studio practice guide and actively shape the programme, resulting in a rich mix of strategies and outcomes each year. Unique and inspiring location
Situated in the south of the Netherlands, outside of the country’s dense urban core, the academy’s two campuses offer generous studio space and an opportunity for intense focus. The academy’s proximity to Germany and Belgium creates a lively local exchange and a broader perspective on theory and practice.
International outlook and network
Students come from around the world, and all the major European art centres are within a few hours reach. Study trips within Europe and abroad form an integral component of the curriculum. There is a lively agenda of guest teachers and speakers, and the academy maintains partnerships with key institutions in the Netherlands and other countries.
The Dutch context
Pursuing your master’s degree in the Netherlands means you will be part of a vibrant arts and design scene with a long and established history. At AKV|St.Joost, engagement with this community is encouraged and facilitated.
