History of The NUCB Business School
Yuichi Kurimoto was the first Japanese person to graduate from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Arts in 1930. Upon his return to Japan he recognized that education was mostly accessible to the elite, and so he championed the fight to make it available to the disenfranchised Japanese youth of the day. In 1935, he began a vocational institute called the 'Nagoya Railroad School', which was later followed by a high school and a junior college.
Always a visionary, Yuichi Kurimoto realized that the post-war economic and population boom in Japan would create a strong demand for an institution dedicated to business education. Thus, in 1953, Nagoya University of Commerce & Business (NUCB) was established.
Accreditation: NUCB has been granted two of the major accreditations, AACSB & AMBA!
The NUCB Business School proudly announces that it's the first MBA program in Japan to hold dual accreditation from both AACSB International and The Association of MBAs. These hallmark of excellence awards bestowed by AACSB and AMBA cement NUCB's strategic initiative to be the best of the best among Business Schools in Japan and Asia. In this age of globalization, international recognition by such prestigious accrediting bodies as AACSB and AMBA signifies our continued commitment to maintaining quality assurance and preservation of the highest global standards.

NUCB and AACSB International
AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is the professional association for college and university management education and the premier accrediting agency for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting.
In 2002, the Nagoya University of Commerce and Business acquired AACSB International membership as only the third educational institution in Japan. NUCB has submitted the Self-Evaluation Report and achieved accreditation of its undergraduate and graduate programs in 2006.
NUCB and AMBA
NUCB is the first and only business school in Japan accredited by The Association of MBAs. AMBA accreditation applies only to the NUCB Business School's MBA and EMBA programs in Japanese; whereas, AACSB International approves both the undergraduate and the graduate programs.
