Introduction

The Accademia Costume & Moda offers courses legally recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universitied and Research under the body that rules Artistic Higher Education. Culture, Design and Craftmanship linked to a laboratorial approach are the key points of the School’s educational mission; the objective is to help the students start their careers, supporting them in the process of recognising and consolidating their creative identity.

The Accademia Costume & Moda releases Academic titles equal to Undergraduate Programs (180 credits) and Master’s Degrees Programs (60 credits), and attendance certificates for its Post Graduate, Intensive and Summer School Programs.

Culture and Experimentation merged with Design and Craftmanship, are our drive in offering to the Fashion System and to the Entertainment Industry, young designers able to respond to their needs.

In its 50 years, Accademia has developed many talents in all its fields of reference. We cannot possibly list them all but we can give you a slight taste of some of their most outstanding achievements.

Among our ALUMNI Creatives and Professionals such as Frida Giannini, Alessandro Michele for Gucci, Aldo Maria Camillo for Cerruti, Sergio Ciucci for Didier Parakian ….

Others instead, have decided to run an independent career creating their own brands Maurizio Galante (Maurizio Galante Haute Couture), Tommaso Aquilano (AQUILANO RIMONDI and Creative Director together with Roberto Rimondi for FAY), Albino D’Amato (Maison Albino), Marella Ferrera (MARELLA FERRERA), Bruno Simeone (Rossorame).

While some have become Head Designers or Line Managers for fashion companies like Valentino, Armani, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Didier Parakian, Alexander Mc Queen.

And to make the list even more complete many are the Senior Designers working for the fashion industry both in Italy and abroad for companies like Max Mara, Givenchy, Dolce e Gabbana etc.

As for the show business/entertainment industry, we are the proud starting point for Academy Award winners like Manlio Rocchetti (“Driving Miss Daisy”) also nominated for the BAFTA Awards for “Gangs of New York“, and top level costume tailors like Francesca Sartori and Gianna Gissi, both winners of several David di Donatello (Italian Oscar Awards), Stefano Canulli (Costume Designer for Cirque du Soleil, Illustrator and close collaborator of Thierry Mugler on various projets) or professionals who have worked for celebrities like Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez (Vrettos Vrettakos) and many more…

The Master’s in Alta Moda is one of the first projects in the world, dedicated to the system of Haute Couture, a hidden world inside the “Maison” and the Couturier’s Atelier. Rome is the perfect city to host such an ambitious Master’s project. Master's in Creative Knitwear Design

The course will be taught both in Italian and English and classes will be held at Accademia Costume & Moda as well as at MISS DEANNA’s historic headquarters in the town of SAN MARTINO IN RIO (Reggio Emilia). The tailor made course comprises of on-site lessons with the main tutors, while the visiting and special projects tutors will be on hand to help to support students with their personal projects and to guide their progress towards personal and professional growth. Each student will have the opportunity to learn about and work with the latest industrial tools, experiencing first-hand the challenges of a professional knitwear designer. In Partnership with Instituto Gemmologico Nazionale Outline The Fashion Jewelry Designer works for the Luxury Industry, for the goldsmith world and for the Fashion System, creating and designing exclusive Accessories. The Designer converts the creative idea in production reality through a deep knowledge of all due procedures and the help of competences that stretch from tradition to innovation. The aim of the Degree is to educate and train professional jewel designers providing them with knowledge on style development and methodology in the various areas of Jewel Design. This course will focus on Haute Couture and Industrial Jewelry, Accessorise and Wristwatch Design through the following procedures: Innovative paths on planning and design ratios I Understanding of descriptive languages I Identification of targets I Entrepreneurship tutoring I The use of heterogeneous and alternative materials and techniques (the students by combining theoretical and practical preparation carried out in internal and external laboratories, will reinterpret traditional materials and techniques).
