A message from the President of DIT

Introducing our new European Campus, Rottal-Inn

The European Campus, which is part of The Deggendorf Institute of Technology, launched in October 2015. It will in cooperation with partners from Austria, The Czech Republic, Poland and Spain, we will specialize in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in healthcare science and in resource efficiency and energy efficiency. All courses have unlimited entries and no tuition fees, and will be partially or completely taught in English.

Language skills: Students will receive multilingual education to prepare them for global careers although the dominating lecture language will be English. International students will attend German lessons and a range of additional language courses will be on offer.

Modular and flexible study: Degrees will have a modular structure, allowing students the freedom to choose from a range of modules according to their academic progress and focus area, thus enabling them to develop their own individual career plan.

Professional career: Recreational industries are short of excellently trained tourism, hotel and events managers. As these industries are currently rapidly expanding, successful graduates will have excellent prospects to develop fantastic careers in all areas of recreational commerce, such as public and private companies, hotels and spa resorts. Potential professional positions will be in tourism/ hotel management, marketing leadership in the tourism or hotel sector, and destination management in travel and tourism companies.

In addition to that, in October 2016 the first technical course, "Bachelor Industrial Engineering/Maintenance and Operation", will start in PAN with a focus on Maintenance, Repair and Operation (MRO).

A Fantastic Location In the Heart of Europe

The European Campus Rottal-Inn is centrally located in the charming touristic town of Pfarrkirchen in lower Bavaria, Southern Germany. It is nestled among rolling, pictureque hills between the Danube and Inn rivers, close to Austrian and Czech borders and near to the large, cosmopolitan cities of Munich and Salzburg.

Apart from many established businesses, numerous street cafes, bars, secluded courtyards and shady beer gardens tempt visits and locals alike to linger and enjoy. To compliment this and maximize students‘ social lifestyle, the campus and student living accommodation is situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and all local amenities.

In rescent years, Pfarrkirchen has become culturally renowned in the Rottal due to the exceptional art exhibitions, museum nights and numerous festivals and events throughout the year. In summer every year the old town festival tempts thousands of visitors to the town festival under the motto “Pfarrkirchen celebrates in European style and more“. The entire town is overtaken with multicultural culinary and musical events.

Furthermore, Pfarrkirchen enjoys excellent public transport links, including Munich International Airport only 90 minutes drive away, making travelling quick, efficient and enjoyable.
