Introduction

IFM Paris is a non-profit state-recognised school founded in 1986 by Pierre Bergé and professionals from the fashion industry, and supported by the French Ministry of Industry. In 2016 it was ranked number 3 fashion school worldwide by The Business of Fashion (Masters category).

In 2016, IFM announced a strategic alliance with Ecole de la chambre syndicale de la couture parisienne, an institution founded in 1927 and praised for the excellence of its teaching, combining creativity and technical savoir-faire.

IFM offers postgraduate academic programs and executive education in either fashion management or fashion design. This particular blend of creativity and business acumen are at the heart of all of IFM’s programmes: Fashion Design Postgraduate Programme, Postgraduate Programme in Fashion Management, MSc in International Luxury Management, Global Fashion Management Executive MBA, IFM Entrepreneurs and Summer School programmes.

IFM's Master of Science in International Luxury Management is a 15-month graduate program delivered in English. French students are encouraged to apply for the Fashion, Design & Luxury Management Program. The objective of this program is to prepare a small group of select students to pursue their careers on an international level, within the global headquarters, regional headquarters, or national subsidiaries of French or other worldwide luxury companies. This program draws upon IFM's strength as a unique meeting place for the interaction between management & design. It gives students: a strong foundation in management skills as applied specifically to the luxury sector: marketing, strategy and operations for international markets, with a particular emphasis on distribution and retail management. the keys to understand and leverage brand value: luxury branding, communication and digital strategies. a profound knowledge of creation: culture of fashion, design and luxury, understanding of the creative process, comprehension of the importance of quality and savoir-faire (know-how) in the luxury industry. Students will also develop the skills to understand "the French touch" –historical and contemporary references– and will learn French to facilitate communication and cultural understanding. Fashion Design Postgraduate Program (Garment, Accessory, Image)

IFM designers are chosen for their strong personality, their creativity and their willingness to develop concrete projects in direct partnership with reputable fashion houses and companies. Each year, it opens its doors to 30 international designers. The program offers three majors: Garment, Accessory, Image. The course lasts 16 months including a 6-month internship in a company. The classes are taught in English by top-level faculty, experienced designers and professional experts. At IFM, unlimited creativity comes into contact with the best technical savoir-faire. For one year, the students make prototypes or imagine projects with IFM’s partner companies (mostly reputable French Fashion houses and manufacturers).
