The Minister of Higher Education and Research renewed his confidence in ESDES in 2015 by extending the VISA to 5 years and the masters to 3 years. As a member of la Conference de Grandes Ecoles, ESDES thus figures in the short list of post-baccalaureate schools benefiting from these labels, which represent 5% of the 195 business schools in France.
This renewal demonstrates the quality and sustainability of ESDES' project, Vision 2020, which thus establishes itself as a new model of an alternative school for the emergence of a responsible economy.
THE BUSINESS SCHOOL OF THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF LYON
Created nearly 30 years ago in the Catholic University of Lyon (UCLy), ESDES developed the first university in Lyon in compliance with the humanistic values of this great, 140-year-old university.
Integrated into the new campus, which has 10,000 students and 200 teachers, ESDES offers a student life rich in diversity and culture, and one that is multidisciplinary: law, economics, science, humanities, social sciences, etc.
It is fertile ground for educational collaborations and research work, intersecting science and humanities, which notably allows for the creation of joint training courses, such as "Business and Law" and "Philosophy and Management" for constructing professional profiles that are open to the new challenges of business development.

The Visa from the Minister of Higher Education and Research is a recognition of the quality of a program. It is given for a period of 1 to 6 years after a complete educational inspection of the programs. The desired diploma allows students to obtain the equivalent of international diplomas and for the school to conclude agreements in cooperation with the best universities abroad.
The Master's Degree which enjoys international recognition only applies to schools delivering a Bac + 5 for a particular diploma of training criteria, governance, and international openness (the number of foreign teachers, agreements with foreign partner institutions, research activities undertaken by permanent teachers in the school, etc). It is granted for a limited period.
La Conference des Grandes Ecoles (CGE) brings together over 200 higher education institutions and French and foreign research recognized by the state and delivering a national diploma Bac + 5 minimum which trains their graduates in a constant search for excellence in conjunction with the corporate world, and the agents of the economy and civil society.
