Founded in 1961, the ENIB is a public engineering school of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, headed by Jacques Tisseau since 2008. The school is located on the site of the Brest- Iroise Technopolis, linking high technology research laboratories and companies. Associated with the Mines-Telecom Institute and member of the ENI group, the school offers training in general engineering with professional purposes in the fields of ICT (electronics and computer science) and mechatronics. ENIB is accredited by the Commission for engineering qualifications (CTI) and labeled EUR-ACE ( Accreditation of engineering education in Europe). Member of the European University of Brittany (UEB ) and of the "Images & Networks" and "Mer Bretagne" competitiveness poles, ENIB performs among its two research laboratories, Lab- STICC and LBMS, activities focused on virtual reality, optical telecommunications and adaptive materials and systems. ENIB is also a member of Campus France and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie ( AUF).
