Accommodation in the University Halls of Residence

Our Halls of Residence in Harcov (Liberec) was the winner of The Best University Halls of the Year Award in years 2014, 2013 and 2011.

International students are guaranteed accommodation in the university's Halls of Residence.

This dual degree master course is based on a cooperation between the Technical University of Liberec, Faculty of Mechatronics, Informatics and Interdisciplinary Studies (Czech Republic) and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (Germany).

Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary programme integrating knowledge from electronics, mechanics, informatics and operations. Its substantial features are artificial intelligence, interactivity, autonomous behaviour and advanced structures. It is used in many disciplines such as robotics, intelligent sensors, satellite technology etc.

Graduates will learn to independently manage innovation projects applying textile technologies including quality evaluation, spinning, weaving, knitting, nonwoven textiles, clothing or tissue engineering in healthcare and other applications, and gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in production. The aim is to provide them with comprehensive knowledge of the whole area of textile and clothing technologies, mainly based on the understanding of basic principles and processes, and on the development of corresponding intellectual skills. They will master both the technological part and the part related to textile structure and properties. Upon graduation, they will have developed the ability to work independently and be technically creative. They can be employed immediately in clothing and textile production, in managerial, research, or educational spheres. They can adapt to working with other branches, especially technical. They are capable of further independent qualification growth. This knowledge enables them to sample new nonwoven and nanomaterials for a wide range of applications. The considerable freedom regarding the choice of lectures ensures big flexibility of the graduate and his/her capability to be employed not only in various areas of textile, automotive and building industries, but also in other activities where nonwoven and nanomaterials are used.
