The School of International … [+] and Public Relations Prague, VOŠ, SOŠ, Gymnázium, sro was the successor organization of the School of Management and Services Prague, founded in 1991 as one of the first private schools in the Czech Republic. Besides Prague, it had its subsidiaries in another 6 locations in the Czech Republic. The change of name has prompted the transformation of educational content into international relations, diplomatic services, public administration and public relations, ie those fields of study which in the upcoming period of information society development will form the basis of a professional structure of the labor market and socially desirable and recognized qualifications. The school is included in the network of schools of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. On the basis of the administrative procedure, VŠMVV Praha obtained on 10 November 2008 from the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic "Permit to provide university education in the territory of the Slovak Republic in accordance with the legislation of the Czech Republic" for bachelor and postgraduate study programs International and Public Relations. Following this, the Education and Consulting Institute of VŠMVV Praha in Bratislava was established, allowing the study of international relations and public administration. At present, the new project is to build a primary and nursery school. The result should be a comprehensive and comprehensive system of education from nursery to college. And at the same time fulfilling the goal, wishes and reference of Mr. Alois Houdek. 7 Reasons to Study at Our School 1. Friendly and friendly environment At our school we do not recognize that a student is just a number. From the first meeting, after school, to the final graduation, when the Rector speaks friendly with you (because he will remember you from the Cultural Anthropology he led), you will live in a school where people know each other and recognize each other! 2. Meeting with personalities During your studies you will meet not only former and current but also future personalities. It will be you! You and your classmates will become political commentators, diplomats and representatives of the Czech Republic in the future (see what is happening at the Premium Student Club). Which other school can you say you have been in trouble with the Foreign Secretary or Ambassador in Qatar? 3. World view and outlook We closely follow international events. If previously "Latin Latin" was English, other languages are now significant. Therefore, for example, we are introducing Chinese and Arabic teaching (all study plans here) from next year. We closely monitor current geopolitical developments, especially European, Asian and Islamic. We want you to lead the education of Czech politicians, journalists and diplomats! 4. Background and Knowledge - Leadership tools It is said that whoever does not know history is condemned to the eternal repetition of his mistakes. That's why we do not learn about our school but learn connections. Knowledge and experience - these are the most powerful tools of your future career! 5. A school like the Babylonian tower Our school is in the best international sense. Young people, from the peaks of Pamir to the French Alps, are studying. You will meet different cultures here and you will have the opportunity to travel to Europe, especially within the Erasmus program. Because only one who knows foreign languages and knows a foreign country understands his homeland and can lead it! 6. We offer scholarships and no hidden fees Our tuition is complete and final. It contains everything you need when you study on schedule. Unlike other Prague schools boasting lower tuition fees, we do not hide exam fees and other things. On the contrary! We offer a wide range of discounts - you can get an accommodation and social scholarship, a scholarship benefit, a tuition fee for work as an auxiliary scientific force, a discount for bringing your friend and a big discount to mark the anniversary of the school's existence, to fool hidden charges elsewhere! 7. Career from the first day Studying with us will open your doors to the world and to many institutions. We provide tens of internships to major companies and government agencies for our students every year. Thanks to them, you will have experience that you will not get anywhere else. Start your career while studying!

Film and TV School (FAMU) Film and TV School (FAMU) is an integral part of The Academy of Performing Arts, which was founded after World War II, in 1947. It is the fifth oldest film school in the world. Its graduates include many influential filmmakers and scriptwriters, many known within international contexts such as Oscar winners or laureates of international film festivals. In addition, most people working in the Czech Republic’s film and TV industry in artistic or p… [+] roduction positions, as well as still-photographers in various media are graduates from FAMU. The 1960s was perhaps the most brilliant period in the history of both Czech cinema and FAMU. The students and professors offered the most progressive and challenging ideas to the overall social discourse of the time. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia in August 1968, several FAMU professors and graduates had to leave the country. Some of them contributed to the development of film art and industry in the world and played significant roles in the development of film education. After the fall of communism in Europe, FAMU maintained its status as the national film school but at the same time opened its gates for international students from all over the World.FAMU is a founding member of CILECT (World association of film schools), of the European League of Institutes of Arts (ELIA), and of the European Association of Cinema and Television Schools GEECT. Works by its graduates have received many awards at international festivals and have often been co-produced with domestic television networks and broadcast over the nation. STUDIES AT FAMU = FILMMAKING + WRITING + ACADEMIC DISCIPLINESFAMU International has various programs in English, from one to six-week summer workshops to one semester programs organized abroad to one-year programs to full master degree programs. Generally speaking, each program consists of a varying proportion of practical filmmaking with assistance, writing skills connected to practical processes and academic disciplines related to the audiovisual field with their reflections and methodologies. Each program has different conditions for admission. Some shorter programs (usually the one semester or summer workshop programs) are based on contracts with particular universities or academic agencies. These programs are run by FAMU regarding curricular matters, but admissions are administered by the particular university or academic agency (CIEE or CET) with whom FAMU is contracted. This section of our website gives complete information on the characteristic of each program and links to the section for applicants, where you can find information on admissions. Studying at FAMU means also spending your life in the heart one of the most beautiful cities in the world.Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, many of which survived the violence and destruction of twentieth-century Europe. Main attractions include the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, the Jewish Quarter, the Lennon Wall, and Petřín hill. Since 1992, the extensive historic center of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. On the other hand, Prague has also many different faces, former industrial parts, many suburbs with a variety of styles including huge urban spaces with panel houses from the communist time, civic architecture from a whole range of 19th and 20th century, many parks etc.
Prague Film School is one of Europe’s leading schools providing practical training in the core disciplines of filmmaking. The school's accelerated programs, its international faculty, and world-class facilities draw students from all over the globe bent on converting a long-held passion for film into a lifetime profession WHY STUDY AT PRAGUE FILM SCHOOL? Praxis-oriented: One would be hard-pressed to find a program that provides as much practical exposure to filmmaking. M… [+] ore than 400 films are shot per year at Prague Film School and students in the year program participate in as many as 30 productions. The operating principle of Prague Film School is training, and we believe as with instruments or with languages, the only way to develop fluency is to practice. High-end facilities: Prague Film School is well-stocked with the latest cutting-edge equipment used in professional film productions throughout the world. Students have immediate access to the school's fleet of cameras, including RED, Arri, Canon and Sony high definition cameras, in addition to high-end lighting, sound, and grip. Intensive: The type of student who chooses Prague Film School comes to us because he or she has essentially only one year in terms of time or financial resources to cross from where he or she is in life at the moment into the world of professional filmmaking. We then have only one year to bring these students to a level of competence where they can operate professionally. As such the program is highly squeezed. Faculty-student relations: Core faculty is brought in from around the world. While all teachers are accomplished professional filmmakers, their primary purpose in Prague is to teach students at Prague Film School. The dynamics are then what you find at exclusive boarding schools and small colleges in the U.S., where the teachers are highly devoted to their students and accessible. Faculty also embody the school’s ideology of integrating European art-house with American independent cinemas. The diversity of student body: In a student body of 60 students, 25-30 countries are represented. Nearly every other student is from a different part of the world, but there’s a sub-cultural glue binding them together. Students live and breathe film together. Liberalism: Most students at our school have completed undergraduate studies and see their time at film school as a cherished chance to wed their deep interests with a vocation. As such, the administration treats all students as responsible adults and trusts students to take full responsibility for their studies. The school does not interfere with students’ artistic choices. Prague: Prague is one of those very rare cities that manages to combine cosmopolitanism with intimacy and beauty. Its magic is apparent to just about anyone fortunate enough to spend some time here. Prague is a major European film center with one of the continent’s largest and oldest film studios. The city is regarded as the world's most beautiful capitals and productions come from all over the globe to capitalize on the city's beauty and film resources. For a film student, Prague is a dream city, providing a setting for virtually any type of film, a charismatic metropolitan buzz for inspiration and affordability still unique in the developed world.

The Mission of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting is to provide University education in accredited study programmes taught on the highest level possible, develop scientific research and to carry out habilitation procedures and procedures for the appointment of professors in accredited disciplines. The Faculty of Finance and Accounting was created 1st July 1991 as a result of organizational changes at the University of Economics, Prague (VSE) during the political changes… [+] after the 1989 revolution. It was built on the basis o the tradition of the faculties’ departments of finance, accounting and didactics of economic studies, which is (together with their degree courses), the epicenter of the University since its creation in 1953 and continues to be throughout its more than sixty years of existence. The newly created Faculty of Finance and Accounting was from its beginning supported by a strong and stable team of scientific and educational professionals who, with the combination of traditional approach towards economic education and exactly planned study programs, have successfully gained a competitive advantage which is kept to this date. This stable team was cooperating with the Faculty since its creation, forming a group of eminent professionals from both the academic field and external field such as companies and government institutions, who significantly participated upon the post-revolution changes within the Czech society. Thanks to this unusual constellation, the Faculty became one of the top of the economic faculties in the Czech Republic and it is being successful in keeping this prestigious position today. The Faculty of finance and accounting offers all three levels (bachelors, master and doctoral) of studies in Czech language. Since 2015 the Faculty is proud to be able to offer Masters and Doctoral level of studies fully in English language. The two year Master programme in Finance and Accounting (MIFA) and the three year Doctoral study in either Finance or Accounting and Corporate Financial Management. This fact is yet another proof of the Faculty’s modern approach and attempt in offering its students something more, valuable for their career. The high quality of the Faculty is reflected in the continuous top rankings of surveys and polls which are put together by professionals, journalists and by students. Another part of the proven quality of the faculty is in the alumni students - graduates. Their successfully growing careers in banks, auditor and consulting companies, production and business firms, including government institutions and as well within the nonprofit sector are speaking for itself. When evaluating the annual statistics of the alumni employment success rate, our faculty is in the leading positions with almost a zero unemployment rate of its graduates. Quality is as well an important aspect, when it comes to the academic staff of the faculty considering their academic performances, scientific - research publishing activities, which are both supported and maintained by the faculty. The Faculty in this matter holds the privilege in organizing specialized conferences and publishing scientific journals and cooperating with several external professionals who are incorporated into the activities mentioned above as well as being in the positions of the academic council of the faculty. Thanks to these the faculty is capable in keeping up with the newest information from real-life experience and connecting them to the study and research attributes which support the high academic level connecting academia and day-to-day experience. International activities of the Faculty are not only offering a master and doctoral programme in English but also student have the unique opportunity to study abroad thanks to programmes such as Erasmus or experience an internship abroad. Achievements of the Faculty which were gained through its existence are binding and will require a considerable amount of effort to be sustained and further develop. I firmly believe that the faculty is sufficiently equipped and motivated to achieve this goal and that it will continue to be considered as a recognized academic institution whose professional opinions are respected and whose graduates will fully apply their quality in practice. doc. Ing. Ladislav Mejzlík, Ph.D. dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting

History and current focus The University and Faculty’s history began with the founding of the Agricultural Department at the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1906, by decree of the emperor Franz Joseph. Professor Stoklasa, a leading figure in agricultural sciences at that time was appointed as the first Dean. The University was established as an independent body by governmental decree on July 8th, 1952. The Faculty of Agronomy, as it was known at that time, was one o… [+] f three founding faculties in this new University. Since then, the Faculty has been the main centre for the education and training of experts, mainly for agricultural enterprises, research, and state administrations. More recently, the Faculty extended its focus, and in 2005 changed its name to the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources (FAFNR). This change in name characterises the shift from primarily agricultural education and research to a broader focus comprising newly emerging issues in natural resources management and food quality. Today, the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources is a modern and respected educational and scientific institution, which accommodates more than 4000 students and 300 employees, with a strong position at home and abroad. Graduates of the faculty are employed in agriculture, horticulture, animal breeding, crop protection, quality of agricultural products, agribusiness, natural resources management, waste management, landscape architecture, rural development, and other areas of importance for the national economy. Our graduates are finding jobs not only as managers but can work in state administration, research and higher education institutions or as private entrepreneurs. Who we are With nearly 4,000 students and 300 employees, the FAFNR is the second largest faculty at the Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS) and the largest faculty with a similar focus in the Czech Republic, recognized and respected both at home and abroad. Our buildings are well equipped with modern facilities and, due to a high level of continuous technical and personal development, the faculty has prospered during its 110-year-long tradition of providing education and research in the field of agriculture, food and natural resources. What we offer We provide high-quality education in a wide range of bachelor, master and doctoral programmes. A number of study programmes are offered that focus on agricultural and horticultural production, garden and landscape architecture, breeding of companion animals, sustainable use of natural resources, food and human nutrition, and many others. We conduct extensive research, which is a precondition for accreditation of our degree programmes and allows a high level of practical training with an active participation of students. We maintain close cooperation with the leading industry producers and service providers, where we implement the results of applied research and our graduates may find employment. Our long-term strategy Our aim is to achieve excellence and broad recognition in the fields of our specializations. Therefore, we place significant investment in technical infrastructure. We advocate the continual pursuit of improved scientific and pedagogic qualifications of our employees and support high-quality outputs of work that are comparable with international standards. An increasing number and quality of scientific publications, highly employable graduates, stimulating demand for our participation in international consortia and networks, and maintaining permanent cooperation with industry leaders, are among our key objectives, and serve as important indicators for our future direction.

Originally founded as the Institute for Liberal Education of Charles University in 1994, the Charles University Faculty of Humanities gained full academic autonomy in 2000. It was established to provide study programmes at the Bachelor’s, Masters and PhD levels that were previously not available at the university. Under the leadership of Dean Professor Jan Sokol, Ph.D., the former education minister, and candidate for the presidency of the Czech Republic in 2003, the school d… [+] eveloped several progressive programmes that responded to important transitional needs. The foundation of its work is the Bachelor’s Programme in Liberal Arts and Humanities, offering students unprecedented individual choice in course selection in both theoretical and applied arts of philosophy, history, the social sciences, and languages. Faculty of Business Administration - University of Economics, Prague The history of the Faculty dates back to 1953 when the University of Economics, Prague was founded, and within which the Faculty of Production Economics was established; after the 1989 transformation, it transitioned into the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA). Throughout its sixty-year history, the Faculty has educated and developed graduates for positions in the microsphere, i.e. to various positions… [+] – including senior management – in economics, business, marketing, personnel and other areas of business as well as non-profit organizations. The Faculty is one of five faculties of the University of Economics, Prague based at the Zizkov campus; its offices are located in the modern so-called Paradise Building. In 2017 the FBA, as only such institute in the Czech Republic, has been conferred with the prestigious EQUIS international accreditation. This accreditation is awarded only to those faculties with top teaching standards, outstanding academics, high quality scientific activities and strong links with business practice. In recent history, FBA’s predominant academic focus at all levels of study (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral) has been directed towards Business Administration and Management. This focus has recently been extended to include undergraduate and graduate studies focused on Arts Management. Faculty teaching takes place mainly in the Czech language, but FBA also provides education at the Bachelor’s degree level in Russian and English. At the graduate level, FBA offers a Master’s degree in International Management, taught in English, which is organized in cooperation with 28 leading universities from around the world and which has received top rankings for a number of years by the Financial Times. At present, the Faculty also organizes numerous continuing education programmes, including MBA studies. FBA’s research activities are, by their nature, more applied research. Every year, many current economic and managerial issues are addressed at the Faculty. Academics are well-known publically as authors of scientific publications in the fields of business economics, management, marketing, sociology, psychology, human resources, logistics, etc. Virtually since its inception, FBA has maintained close links with the private and public sectors. Corporate partners offer the Faculty’s students a wide range of topics on which to focus their bachelor's and master's theses; in addition, top executives enrich the teaching environment by providing many attractive topics from real business life. A modern higher educational institution must have extensive international contacts. In the case of our Faculty, we are involved in an international study programme called CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education); we also provide numerous fellowships for students and lectures by visiting professors from abroad, etc. It is the ambition of FBA’s management for the Faculty to take a leading position among Central European higher educational institutions focused on preparing economically and managerially savvy experts for the field. Repeated inclusion of FBA in the prestigious ranking of economically oriented schools by the Financial Times suggests that it is going in the right direction. Study and Pedagogical Activities Education in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes is in the full-time form. Studies in the Master's degree in Business Administration can also be done on a part-time basis. Similarly, teaching in Doctoral programmes is implemented on both a full-time and part-time basis. There is no tuition charged for programmes taught in the Czech language. All other programmes charge tuition fees. FBA also implements various training courses within the framework of lifelong learning, including an MBA programme, under similar financial conditions. There has long been considerable interest in studying at FBA.

Having been inspired by Gottfried Semper` s ideas and concepts, the School of Decorative Arts in Prague was founded in 1885. At that time it represented the first and only state school in Czech lands. The school itself was built between 1882 and 1885 according to the project designed by Františěk Schmoranz junior and Jan Machytka. After the Czech universities and colleges were closed by the Nazis in 1939, the School of Decorative Arts took over the role of the Academy during t… [+] he war period. In concordance with Act from 1946, it finally acquired a new status and subsequently a new title Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design (AAAD). In 1947 the study length was prolonged to five years and the studios were grouped in the following departments: applied architecture, applied painting, applied graphic design, textile, and clothing industry, applied stone sculpture, glass processing, porcelain, and ceramics. AAAD celebrated its 100th anniversary of the school`s existence in 1985 by proclaiming to adhere to the cultural-political program of the communist party and never-ending struggle for progress. Such a tendency was maintained even by the following rector Jan Mikula. After November 1989 a number of teachers were made redundant and the organization of AAAD departments and study system was changed. Under the then-rectors Josef Hlaváček, who took up his position in 1994, Zdeněk Ziegler, Jiří Pelcl, Boris Jirků and the current rector Pavel Liška, the AAAD is acquiring a completely new face. Nowadays, the university has joined several important international projects, enriched the educational system in additional fine and applied arts disciplines, and last but not least, focused on publishing books on art and organizing school exhibitions. AAAD consists of twenty-four studios which are grouped into five departments: architecture, design, fine art, applied arts and graphics. The sixth department provides lectures on art history and aesthetics.

Programs to fit your passions Winterline Global Education offers skills-based gap, semester and summer programs for young adults with an adventurous spirit and an interest in the world around them. You will learn real-world skills to prepare you for college, life, and career while traveling the world and exploring your passions. Produce a documentary film. Launch a business. Learn to scuba dive. Build a tiny house. Practice authentic Thai massage. These are just a few of… [+] the experiences you could have on our programs. Do something new. Learn by doing. Prepare for life. Welcome to Winterline Global Education! We are a unique and innovative global gap, semester and summer program organization, offering high school graduates and young adults the opportunity to step out of the ‘rush to and through college’ and explore what they really want to do with their lives. We believe that high school graduates are much better prepared for college – and for a career – when they take the time to explore and pursue a wide variety of possible interest and skills. What specific skills will students learn on the program? Winterline Global Education introduces students to a wide diversity of skills – but all of them very practical. Students learn life skills such as cooking, caregiving, and personal money management; job skills such as customer service and negotiation; communication skills such as effective public speaking and the making of digital media presentations. These are just a few examples of the core competencies students will learn while on the program. Here is a more detailed listing. How is the Winterline Global Skills Program different from other “gap" programs? Most “gap” or “bridge” year programs offer students the opportunity to volunteer in another country, or to “get to know themselves better” and “make a difference in the world.” As praiseworthy as these efforts are, at Winterline we feel that in order for young adults to actually offer something, they need to have the skills to do so. A gap experience is an extremely valuable time when students can lay a foundation for a successful college experience by gaining a diverse set of skills and being introduced to a wide range of job and career options. Add to this the value of international travel and exposure to global issues and concerns, and you have a program unlike any other. How will this program better prepare young adults for college or university? The Winterline Global Skills Programs offer very practical life and career building skills. They are not “college prep” programs offering to coach in academic subject areas, yet by giving students a chance to explore their interests, gain skills and consider career options, they enter college or university with a much clearer sense of direction and purpose. They know what they want to get out of life and they know how to get there. additional support and guidance in the college application and decision-making process. Are there any prerequisites for joining your program? There are no specific prerequisites to joining a Winterline Global Skills Program besides an inquisitive mind, a “can do” attitude, and a willingness to take risks, make mistakes, and grow through the process. Students are expected to be physically fit and flexible enough to meet the stresses and demands of traveling in the developing world. Do you have an age requirement? Applicants must be between 18 and 22 years of age as of Sept. 1, 2016.
