Introduction

Algebra University was established in 2008 as a private higher education institution, ranked 1st in the Republic of Croatia with respect to the overall quality of programs and Quality Assurance System according to the National Agency for Science and Higher Education. We offer modern bachelor and master study programs in Computer Science: Data Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, and System Engineering; in Economy: Digital Marketing and e-Leadership MBA, and Arts: Design, 3D Design, and Communications Management, all taught in English.

Students who complete full-time study programs in English have the opportunity to obtain a dual degree from Algebra University and Goldsmiths, University of London. We have also established a strong network of international partners through our student exchange programs as well as the traditional Algebra International Winter and Summer School for students from around the globe who are keen to join applicable and creative courses in the field of digital technologies while exploring the best of Croatia. Our International School are 3-4-week programme held every January and July for students worldwide.

Algebra University opened a brand-new Zagreb campus in March 2022, a modern digital hub open to students and innovators.

Outside Croatia, Algebra is a proud organizer of ABC Bootcamps, offering 2-week summer educational programs in Toronto and Silicon Valley focused on developing practical entrepreneurial skills. We strive to become a leader in providing high-quality education in the field of computer science and digital technologies.

Campus Features

    Admissions

    Algebra University offers only one intake per year. The academic year starts at the end of September. An International Welcome and Orientation Week is organised a week prior to the start of the academic year.

    The deadline to apply for the next September intake is July 1st, 2024.

    ADMISSIONS TO BACHELOR PROGRAMMES:

    Fill out the website application form

    Required documents

    • Certificate of citizenship (passport scan)
    • Passport size photograp
    • Educational certificates’ copies in English
    • Final High School Diploma certificate obtained in the original (or certified copy)

    • Certificates for each grade completed in high school (last four grades)

    • Certified translation of the afore mentioned certificates to the English language issued by a certified court interpreter, with the exception of the documents issued in the English language
    • Proof of English language proficiency, e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test, or equivalents copy
    • CV/Resume in English
    • Arts portfolio (only students interested to enrol in programmes accredited in the Arts)

    Once the application has been submitted and documents sent, International Office will first review the application and send the student a Proforma invoice in the amount of 255 EUR application and administrative fee (non-refundable) before continuing the application process which includes a mandatory motivational call.

    English language requirements

    Proof of English proficiency:

    • IELTS minimum band score 6.0 (no element lower than 5.5) or equivalent:
    • TOEFL and TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: 80 overall with 21 in Writing and no lower than 20 in each other skill
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic and PTE Academic Online: 54 overall with min 51 Writing and no element lower than 47
    • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE C1): 169 overall with 160 in Writing and no subtest lower than 154
    • Cambridge Proficiency English (CPE): 169 overall with 160 in Writing and no subtest lower than 154

    Please note that your certificate must not be older than 2 years.

    International Baccalaurate:

    • IB Diploma Taught in English: Completion with 28+ points
    • IB English Language A: Literature/International Baccalaureate English Language A: Language & Literature: Completion with grade H4 or S5
    • International Baccalaureate English Language B: Completion with grade H4 or S6

    Valid for 5 years.

    ADMISSIONS TO MASTER PROGRAMMES:

    Required documents

    • Certificate of citizenship (passport scan)
    • Passport size photograph
    • Educational certificates’ copies in English:
    • complete, original Transcript of records

    • Degree Certificate/Diploma,

    • Course descriptions/syllabus for each course taken during your bachelor programme
    • Proof of English language proficiency, e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson Test, or equivalents copy
    • CV/Resume in English
    • Arts portfolio (only students interested to enrol in programs accredited in the Arts)

    Once the application has been submitted and documents sent, International Office will first review the application and send the student a Proforma invoice in the amount of 255 EUR application and administrative fee (non-refundable) before continuing the application process which includes an interview with the candidate to determine eligibility for the program applied to.

    English language requirements

    IELTS minimum band score 6.5 (no element lower than 6.0)

    or equivalent:

    • TOEFL and TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition: 92 overall with 23 in Writing and no lower than 20 in each other skill
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic and PTE Academic Online: 62 overall with min 59 in Writing and no element lower than 51
    • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE C1): 176 overall with 169 in Writing and no subtest lower than 160
    • Cambridge Proficiency English (CPE): 176 overall with 169 in Writing and no subtest lower than 160

    Please note that your certificate must not be older than 2 years.

    Students who studied their bachelor degree in English language and who obtain a letter from their University (template provided by Algebra) will have it reviewed in order to be accepted as proof of English proficiency.

    Visa Requirements

    Full time students can apply for short term Visa C to enter Croatia, and within 2 days of their arrival they have to apply for a temporary residence permit for the purpose of studying at the Police station.

    Students can apply 6 months prior to intended arrival for a visa, but are advised to apply for a visa at least 3 months before the start of the academic year which is September 2024.

    Detailed guidelines will be shared when a student ends the admission procedure.
