ProfHistória, a stricto sensu graduate program in History Teaching, recognized by the Ministry of Education's Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), aims at the continuing education of History teachers working in Basic Education, providing a certified qualification for the exercise of the profession. ProfHistória, which leads to the title of Master in History Teaching, is a face-to-face course, with a simultaneous national offer, coordinated by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

The Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in History prioritizes the exercise of scientific reflection on academic issues and pedagogical practices in the context of History. Such concern aims to deepen the theoretical and methodological knowledge of history professionals and related areas, instructing them to exercise higher education and research. The students will have as their goal the critical study of the stages of the construction process of the scientific method: delimitation of the analytical corpus, legitimacy of a theoretical concept, formulation of hypotheses, internal logic of argumentation, and dissemination of the knowledge produced.

The Graduate Program in History aims to broaden and deepen knowledge in order to stimulate creativity in research and qualify personnel for the exercise of teaching and research.
