MA Editing for TV, Film and Digital Media will equip you with much more than the ability to edit visual material effectively. You’ll study at our MediaCity campus, a hub of digital and media businesses in the north of England and home to the BBC and ITV. You’ll use our state-of-the-art facilities including digital labs, fabrication labs, computer and editing suites and green screen facilities. Throughout the course, there will be opportunities to engage with the industry through networking events and live projects.

This MA is an intensive program providing you with a solid foundation in media-based storytelling by combining in-depth research methods with a practical, hands-on approach to learning. It will teach you how to record and edit in audio and video formats; how to research, produce, script, and edit your own material, whether it is short features or long-form documentaries; and how to produce stories for radio, TV, and interactive online platforms. To do this, you’ll also learn effective interviewing techniques. This MA will teach you how to identify a good story and then how to research and pitch it for a successful commissioning outcome.

The MA Film and Television Production course aim to deliver employable and smart thinking graduates ready for the industry and aware of the issues that making content for screens big and small entails.

MA Production Management for TV, film and digital media will give you practical experience in the planning, organising, execution and delivery of TV production in the genres of documentary, studio and drama. Located in the heart of MediaCity, a digital and media hub, you will have the opportunity to network with industry production managers in seminars, workshops, tuition and industry-aligned projects. This programme has strong links with the BBC, ITV, True North, Dock 10 and other high-profile production companies across the UK.

The Master of Fine Arts (Film and Television) gives experienced film and television practitioners, and high-level film students, the opportunity to engage in independent research in their field. The degree will enable student researchers to develop mastery and advance the practice and theory in their field.
