The Research Master in Modern History and International Relations offers a challenging multidisciplinary approach, with Intensive supervision by high-quality researchers in small groups. We also offer research assistantships.

The MA in Modern History focuses on the period c1750-2000 and draws on the considerable range of expertise within the School to help you explore history and bring it to life. The MA in Modern History has allowed me to explore the subjects I am passionate about alongside inspiring, supportive, and engaging lecturers.

Could climate change have impacted the fall of the Roman Empire? How do societies historically cope with crises, such as flooding or warfare? How can we understand wealth disparities from a historical perspective?

This unique interdisciplinary programme allows intensive historical, literary and art-historical study. The MA in Medieval and Early Modern Studies provides a thorough grounding in the skills required for advanced research in the medieval and early modern periods.
