Wingate University has established itself as a leading North Carolina university today, but it wasn’t even a college when it was founded in 1896. The Baptist associations in Union County, North Carolina, and Chesterfield County, South Carolina, sought to provide literacy education from first grade through high school.

At the time, public schools were scarce in the Carolina Piedmont. The location was chosen because it was close to the Seaboard Air Line Railway. It was also close to Meadow Branch Baptist Church.

The Wingate school was built on 10 acres that had fine oak trees and a spring.

The Master of Accounting degree at Wingate University Ballantyne is offered as both a two-year and a one-year program. A new student cohort commences each Fall (August) semester and Spring (January) semester. Courses are held throughout the Fall, Spring, and Summer during weekday evenings to meet the needs of adult professionals continuing their education while holding full-time corporate positions in the Charlotte area. Take advantage of the MAC Program's course sequences which allow you to complete the degree requirements in only one or two years. Our part-time sequence includes two courses per semester, which is typically two nights per week (but less in the Summer) and is completed in under two years. The full-time sequence includes four courses per semester, which is typically four nights per week (but less in the Summer) and is finished in just one year.

MASTER OF ACCOUNTING

The Master of Arts in Education in Elementary Education (M.A.Ed.) is designed for students who hold a current teaching license or who have completed an Education program and are eligible for initial licensure. Program graduates are eligible for advanced licensure (“M”) in Elementary Education K-6.
