Introduction
Program description
Studying Tourism and Recreation at the Master’s level, will provide you with knowledge of management in tourism, and will enable you to further develop the skills that you have gained at the Bachelor’s level. You will learn how to independently and professionally operate a travel agency, tourist resort, or food establishment, and organize premium business events.
Four semesters at Warsaw School of Hospitality offer a great opportunity to gain the skills necessary to establish your own tourist or hospitality business – and not only in Poland! This will become possible thanks to, amongst others, management skills, especially strategic thinking, as well as foreign language skills (B2 or higher, according to the Common European Framework of Reference).
By choosing the Master’s program in Tourism and Recreation, you will gain complete industry knowledge, which will enable you to develop your potential on the competitive market. We will help you quickly become an expert in your chosen field.
About the program
The curriculum of the Tourism and Recreation program at the Master’s level has been specifically designed to expand the knowledge gained during your Bachelor’s studies. You will gain new skills related to complex management – in tourism, recreation and sports, hospitality management and catering, as well as organizing business events. You will be taught by long-time practitioners, renowned experts, and experienced lecturers, who will do everything to effectively combine theory and practice.
Internship
Working in the tourism sector means working with other people, and requires necessary experience, which you will be able to gain during your studies, thanks to our vast choice of internships. Our careers office will help you do internships, both in Poland and abroad.

Sub-majors
Studying Tourism and Recreation will enable you to expand your knowledge in one of five sub-majors, which are tailored to the needs of the job market.
- Sub-major: Management in Tourism
A sub-major perfect for everyone who wants to learn the legal, economic, and marketing aspects of global tourism. You will discover the principles governing the tourist market, its products, and tourist regions. International projects and collaboration with travel organizers will enable you to gain knowledge.
- Sub-major: Sports Management
This sub-major will allow you to learn how to manage recreational and sports events, as well as fitness centers. Even before you graduate, you will actively participate in organizing events, thanks to our close collaboration with sports events organizers – track and field.
- Sub-major: Management in Hotel Industry
If you are interested in planning hotel-related business activities and their promotion, this sub-major is for you. You will explore the domestic and global hotel market and acquire the knowledge of accommodations management.
- Sub-major: Catering Management
This sub-major is aimed at all those who are interested in planning catering-related business activities and their promotion. You will explore the domestic and global food services market, and absorb knowledge of food establishment management.
- Sub-major: Meeting Management
This sub-major will allow you to learn how to organize business trips, conferences, fairs, and other business events. While studying at the Warsaw School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, you will have many opportunities to participate in international congresses and incentive trips. You will also have the opportunity to join MPI (Meeting Professional International), which will give you access to conferences held, amongst others, in London, Copenhagen, Davos, Dusseldorf, and Barcelona.
