Introduction
Monash University's Department of Forensic Medicine, in partnership with VIFM, offers the Master of Forensic Medicine, a world-leading postgraduate program delivered by professional forensic practitioners. This unique course, the only degree of its type shown in the southern hemisphere, is at the forefront of forensic medical, scientific and technical knowledge.
Divided into three streams; Clinical Forensic Medicine, Forensic Medical Science & Forensic Odontology, the program is designed for doctors, dentists, nurses, and medical scientists seeking entry into the world of forensics to enhance their knowledge base. The degree's fundamental philosophy is to produce fully developed graduates with a robust understanding of the forensic practice, academic standards, and comprehensive knowledge of medico-legal principles. Students graduate with a complete set of skills and tools that will allow them to provide the highest level of forensic services to the community.
The Master of Forensic Medicine program is an AQF Level 9 Expert degree recognized and held in high regard both internationally and domestically. All Heads of Clinical Forensic Medical services in each respective state and territory have this qualification in Australia.
In this program, you will:
