Introduction

Master of Commercial Law

The aim of this program is to produce graduates with the advance knowledge, professional and analytical skills, and prepare them for the challenges of managing the organization in the current global environment.

Master of Commercial Law curriculum

The program is a 40-credit-hour program, consisting of 32-credit-hours of coursework and 8-credit-hours of project paper. Students are required to take 7 core courses before they are allowed to write their project paper. In which they are expected to demonstrate their ability in applying the knowledge gained as well as to enhance their writing and other soft skills.

Faculty

The program will be taught by faculty members and visiting professors in School of Law who are experts in their own field and who are vast teaching and practical experience.

Teaching Style

A method of teacher-centered and student-centered is used for curriculum delivery. Lectures, discussions, seminar, field projects, individual and group work, presentation, and problem-based learning are some of the common instructional method used to enhance students’ learning experience. Students are expected to be more independent in their learning as the curriculum progress.

Career opportunities

Graduates of this program could further their current executive career or move to management level position in both private and government sector such as legal practitioner or legal advisor.

Entry requirements

Admission into the program can be granted based on the criteria specified below:

  • A Bachelor of Law degree with Honours from any other institution of higher learning recognized by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and the University Senate with a CGPA at least 2.75; or
  • A Bachelor’s degree from any other institution of higher learning recognized by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and the University Senate with CGPA less than 2.75 and have at least three (3) years of working experience related to legal field; or
  • Any other equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate; and
  • Fulfil the English Language requirement as set by the University Senate
