Graduate education in bioregional planning is designed to prepare the student for work within a trans-disciplinary environment providing better alternatives for environmental decisions, policy and implementation. The program is jointly administered by the departments of Environment and Society and Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning. The graduate will be qualified to practice in both private firms and various public sectors, which may include offices of the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management; and various state, county, and community organizations.

Master in Bioregional Planning

The Master of Natural Resources (MNR) Degree is designed specifically for natural resource working professionals who are returning to school to advance their careers. • Earn your Master's degree from any location; students choose from several flexible course delivery options that fit the schedules of both students and working professionals. • The MNR is a non-thesis master's focusing course work around five core requirements related to natural resource management. • Students complete a capstone experience which provides an opportunity to apply their skills to real-world problems. • Graduates from the S.J. & Jessie E. Master of Natural Resources

USU is the only university in the state with a college devoted to the study of natural resources, and the degree in wildlife biology is one of the few academic programs in the nation where students can study the management of human-wildlife conflict. Professors in the department have a wide array of interest areas in wildlife biology that students can study and are renowned for securing research grants and publishing their research. The department promotes a particular focus on current issues and concerns in natural resources, such as climate change, endangered species, restoration of sagebrush steppe systems and other landscapes, and human-wildlife conflict.
