Introduction

To maintain the high level of professional training in Forest Engineering recognized to the graduates by this University.

To ensure the acquisition of advanced level skills in the various scientific areas of the course, with special emphasis on the deep recognition of components and interactions in forest ecosystems, developing and applying the concept of sustainability in forestry practice, with a view to the future conservation of natural resources.

Specific Objectives

Engineers with this advanced training should be able to design, design and carry out innovative projects and studies in a multidisciplinary environment involving the various components of resources, activities and forest heritage. The masters will consolidate competences at the level of:

  • inventory and modeling of forest resources;
  • functionalities of GIS;
  • forest planning.

They will have the technical and scientific capacity to perceive and solve problems in the following areas:

  • conservation and sustainable management of forest and agroforestry resources;
  • ecology and fire management;
  • ecology of riparian systems and protection of biodiversity;
  • sustainable land management;
  • restoration of forest ecosystems;
  • management of hunting resources.

A growing number of Forest Engineers opt to work on their own, with emphasis on the entrepreneurial entrepreneurship of our graduates at the planning and forest management level.

The Bologna study plan is organized in curricular units, in which the student will have teaching sessions of a collective nature, personal tutorial sessions, internships, projects and fieldwork.

The implementation of application works will allow, from real examples, a learning oriented towards: 1) the approach of the forest component within the different instruments of spatial planning and 2) the development of tools for management and monitoring of forest stands.

The interaction of students with potential employers, which takes place in the second year of the course ("Business-University Project" course), aims to ensure students the conditions of professional integration.

The frequency and utilization of the school part makes it possible to obtain a postgraduate diploma, with the final classification of the Master's degree obtained by the arithmetic mean of the non-rounded classifications of the school part and the classification in the public act of defense of the dissertation, of the project work.
