Introduction

Ural Power Engineering Institute of Ural Federal University offers a new master's curriculum Energy for Smart Cities.

Graduates of the program will gain unique competencies in the design, operation, control, and analysis of modern urban power systems with a particular focus on machine learning technologies. The target audience of the program is bachelors and specialists in technical sciences.

The future professional activities of the graduates are connected with:

  • designing and implementation of smart solutions for urban energy systems;
  • project management in power systems and power grids;
  • operation and monitoring of the power equipment and automated control systems.

The program covers the design of modern urban energy systems, construction and operation of power equipment, and ways to integrate modern information technologies into the energy sector.

Within the framework of the module Power supply systems design, the students will be offered to solve an engineering case developed together with Schneider Electric company. The case will address the application of BIM technologies for energy-efficient buildings.
