Introduction

The master's degree course aims to provide graduates with advanced knowledge in the food science sector, to train professional skills suitable for carrying out complex coordination and guidance activities relating to the food sector, to provide knowledge aimed at guaranteeing, also with use of innovative methodologies, food safety and quality.

The professional activity of the food technologist takes place mainly in the food industries and in all companies connected to the production, transformation, conservation and distribution of food products, in large-scale retail trade companies, in public and private bodies that conduct planning and analysis activities. , control, and certification, as well as in those who carry out scientific investigations for the protection and valorisation of food production, in training institutions, in research offices and in the freelance profession.

The degree course does not provide for a division into curricula or orientations but adequate space is reserved for the choice by students, under the guidance of the course teachers, of training courses that allow for an in-depth study of particular production areas or the obtaining a specific occupational profile.
