Introduction
We offer the chance to study harp in an international environment under the guidance of the best possible teachers.
Why study here?
The core of the program is weekly one-on-one instruction given by the best teachers in the field. Graduates of the program have the skills to work as orchestra musicians, soloists, chamber musicians, or music teachers. You can also complete a larger study module in pedagogical studies required for working as a teacher.
About the studies
In addition to the lessons with your own teacher, you can also regularly attend master classes taught by visiting teachers. You will take part in the activities of our symphony orchestra already during your first year of studies.
You can also choose courses organized by the other two academies of the University and complete so-called joint studies that are available for all students.
Teachers
Our teachers are some of the best experts in their respective fields. In addition to the permanent teaching staff, the program welcomes international top professionals as guests on a regular basis.
Program Outcome
The focus of harp studies is that the student learns to master their instrument. With this goal in mind, you will receive 90 minutes of one-on-one instruction in your main instrument per week from some of the best teachers in the field. You will gain a broad understanding of the central orchestral parts of the harp and learn to master contemporary music in collaboration with composers. You will also study chamber music, music perception, music history, pedagogy, and languages, as well as minor and optional studies of your own choosing. You will prepare for a career as an orchestra musician by participating in audition training and practice auditions.
