Introduction

For those who are eager to expand their knowledge of psychology further, this course is ideal. It is also an appropriate progression for those who are interested in vocational psychology roles which increasingly require doctorate training. With a number of roles in vocational psychology now requiring doctorate training, there is a need for students to gain experience and knowledge in order to gain a place on the doctorate programmes. The additional experience and knowledge gained from completing this Masters, better equips graduates to compete for a place on a doctorate programme.

You will be expected to demonstrate the capacity to formulate research questions, study designs, and ethical considerations, before then carrying out and reporting on your findings.

The four mandatory core modules include:

  1. Research Design and Statistics;
  2. Clinical Applications in Psychology;
  3. Psychological and Neuropsychological Assessment;
  4. Dissertation Project.

The optional modules provide the opportunity to identify a specialism which includes:

  1. Educational Psychology
  2. Psychology in Practice (a placement module).
