Introduction

At the beginning of the master’s program there is a block of four large modules with which the mathematical and engineering fundamentals are deepened. The aim of these modules is to bring students with different entrance qualifications to a uniform level of knowledge.

The students set their own priorities in their master’s program: Depending on their inclination and interest, they choose applied engineering content from extensive catalogs. Experimental and programming technical laboratories in small groups serve to deepen and supplement the knowledge imparted.

The students develop their skills with comprehensive modules: The module P4 "Ergonomics" establishes the relationship between engineering and ergonomic knowledge (interface "man-machine"). The elective module W8 enables the in-depth study of a foreign language (English, French or Spanish) and thus improves the international perspective. In addition, business knowledge is acquired.

The mandatory six-week industrial internship creates opportunities to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired to practical issues and to get to know some practical issues for scientific processing. With the final master's thesis, the students finally prove that they can independently work on a scientific question or a typical occupational task using scientific methods and present the results appropriately.
