Introduction

The two-year Master's Degree Course in Chemistry (Class LM-54), active since 2010/11, has been designed to give ample space to the basic disciplines, both theoretical and experimental, so as to train a complete chemist and highly qualified, who will be able to enter the world of work in the application-industrial, teaching and research sectors (access to research doctorates and specialization schools).

The master's degree course aims to develop young people the ability to elaborate and apply original ideas to practical problems (in the productive or analytical field) or to scientific research.

The training course includes the acquisition of knowledge of quantum mechanics and the deepening of inorganic, organic and biological chemistry, in addition to macromolecular chemistry, which represents one of the strengths in the research of our University.

This path common to all students is integrated with optional and free choice courses which, together with the thesis, personalize the training of each graduate.

Graduates must be able to:

1) design and study a new chemical reaction,

2) realize and optimize the synthesis of new compounds or materials,

3) to develop new analytical and material characterization methods.

He must be able to master the scientific language and communicate effectively even with people without scientific culture. On the other hand, he will be able to dialogue by formulating judgments and proposals and discussing complex issues with other specialists. He will have received the continuous stimulus to study and cultural and professional updating, facilitated by the transmission of knowledge through the internet.
