Introduction
The Master’s degree acknowledges the recent scientific advances in the investigation of cultural heritage materials at different scales, from the site/landscape survey to diagnostics at the molecular and atomic levels, and the interpretation of derived information. Based on truly interdisciplinary collaborations, the program offers the theoretical background and the necessary practical knowledge for the application of scientific methods to archaeological and cultural heritage materials.

Curriculum
Completing a Master's degree in Applied Sciences to Cultural Heritage, Materials, and Sites entails the successful fulfillment of a comprehensive academic program, comprising a total of 120 ECTS credits.
Integrated analysis of cultural heritage materials, Geomorphology of archaeological landscapes and sites, Suite of courses on Materials properties and conservation (stone materials, binders, biomaterials, ceramics, pigments, metals, glass), Geoarchaeology and micromorphology, Dating techniques, Geophysics for cultural heritage and civil engineering, Macromolecules and genetics, Communication and digital experience in cultural heritage, Historical buildings and sites, Remote sensing for geomorphology and archaeology, Databases and data processing, Authentication, History and theory of restoration, Management and valorization of cultural heritage
The program structure and the focus on materials are very different from existing programs in Italy and most EU countries.
Selected students may also have the possibility to achieve a double degree with the University of Haifa (Maritime Archaeological Heritage) and with the University of Bordeaux Montaigne (Archaeological Sciences).
The program is a study track – held completely in English – of the Master’s degree program in Scienze Archeologiche.
Career Opportunities
Graduates work as archaeologists, archaeological scientists, consultants, and planners for diagnostic programs of sites and CH objects, managers of archaeological sites, consultants and planners for Museums, consultants and planners for conservation programs. In Italy, they can specialize further and enroll in the list of professional archaeologists. Their competencies and knowledge will be unique for the interpretation and valorization of archaeological and CH materials.

Galilean School of Higher Education Scholarships
The Scuola Galileiana di Studi Superiori (Galilean School of Higher Education) is the University of Padua’s school of excellence. It combines traditional university education with a series of special in-house courses comprising seminars and lectures by renowned international visiting professors. Up to four highly talented international students are selected each year.

Scholarships awarded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation MAECI
Every year, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation awards scholarships for studying in Italy to both international students and Italian students who are permanent residents in countries other than Italy (IRE).
These scholarships aim to foster international cultural cooperation, spread the knowledge of the Italian language, culture, and science, as well as promote the Italian economic and technological system throughout the world.
Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes, both public and legally recognized.
Loans for merit
The University of Padua has signed an agreement with the bank Banca Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A, the savings bank Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, and the Association ‘Friends of the University of Padua’. The agreement is aimed at providing EU students with a flexible borrowing option at advantageous interest rates, to be granted with no need for collateral, to bear expenses for education.
The loan will be granted following checks on the eligibility criteria of the student asking for the financing and prior approval of the lender.
