Our program provides a comprehensive and specialized curriculum that prepares graduates to excel as secondary mathematics teachers, curriculum developers, and instructional leaders.

Through a combination of coursework, field experiences, and practical teaching opportunities, students in our program deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts, pedagogical strategies, and adolescent development. They engage with research-based instructional practices, explore effective ways to teach mathematics to diverse learners, and learn how to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences aligned with state and national standards.

The Master of Mathematics with a Secondary Teaching Emphasis curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and discrete mathematics. Students also study educational psychology, classroom management, assessment practices, and technology integration to enhance their teaching effectiveness.

Throughout the program, students have opportunities to apply their learning in real-world settings through practicum experiences, internships, or student teaching placements in secondary schools. They work closely with experienced educators and faculty mentors to develop their teaching skills, implement research-based instructional strategies, and reflect on their teaching experiences to continuously improve their practice.

Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared to become highly effective secondary mathematics teachers. They may pursue careers in public or private schools, charter schools, magnet schools, or international schools.
