University of Missouri Kansas City School of Education

Introduction

The vision and mission of the School of Education rest on over 65 years of partnerships with the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. These relationships have engaged school districts, charter schools, hospitals, mental health agencies, educational organizations, social service organizations, and related civic, cultural, and business organizations. Since its inception, the School of Education has been a shining example for advancing the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC), the only public urban-serving research university located in the heart of Kansas City. Earning the Community Engagement Classification by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in 2015, UMKC carries out this commitment every day in the School of Education.

The School of Education is a place that openly welcomes and supports all people who possess a broad range of backgrounds, life experiences, interests, and aspirations. Our students have found employment worldwide in the metro area, the region, the country, and the world.
