Introduction
The main course focus is on sociological research methods and social science analytics, and the intention is to produce graduates ready to embark on research careers in the private, public, voluntary or academic spheres. Modules will involve a blend of in-class lectures, small group discussions, and individual and/or collaborative group work
Students will learn how to:
- analyse human processes from a sociological perspective
- understand the role of social relations in the structuring of world society
- conduct theoretically informed research on social processes and social dynamics
- use cutting-edge research methods - quantitative and qualitative - for answering sociological questions
- understand key ethical issues in conducting sociological and social science research
