Master in Educational Sciences

• Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art.
• Modules: Educational Management; Teaching and Learning for Competence.
• Awards: Master of Education Sciences.
• Amount of credits: 50 credit points or 75 ECTS.
• Accreditation: study program is licensed, will be accredited within two years (according to national legislation).
• Duration of studies: 1,3 years.

The study programme prepares higher-level managers in education, teachers- supervisors and mentors in any field of education. The aims of the study programme - to promote the development and competitiveness of the teaching, management and research skills of students and motivate them for further academic growth.

The programme is multidisciplinary, thus promoting the development of general, specific, research and interpersonal competencies.

Programme modules

Educational management

Students will develop understanding and acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about education management, state and local governments, education policies, management of organizations, leadership in education, the economics of education, educational work management.

Teaching and Learning for Competence

Students will solve a diverse range of issues of modern education related to changes and new challenges in education policy and practice, implementation of the project “School 2030” in Latvian schools and introduction of the new education standards.
