Introduction
Master's Degree Programme in Forestry aims to promote the ecologically and socially sustainable use of nature resources. We provide you high quality and diversified training in forestry and bioenergy, with emphasis on social and ecological sustainability. The working language is English. The extent of these two-year long studies is 120 ECTS points.
Our programme welcomes applications from persons who hold a Bachelor's or comparable degree in forest or related science.
Curriculum
The Master's Degree Programme in Forestry includes two sub-programmes: A. Forestry, which is taught by the University of Eastern Finland solely and B. Transatlantic Forestry Master that includes one year at the Canadian Transfor-M Partner university. Our programme provides you with knowledge and skills, which enable you to serve multinational organisations in the field of creating rational strategies and operations worlwide. We also provide you with high quality and diversified training in forestry and forest management, with emphasis on social and ecological sustainability. The studies are strongly oriented to the needs of future international labor markets. The graduates will have capacity and competence to work in the international field of forestry, as well as to undertake research and to assume various specialist positions in new environments.
The 120 ECTS study programme consists of A. General and methodological studies, B. Studies in language and communication, C. Advanced studies in Forestry (in Management and ecology of forest ecosystems or in Forest technology and economics), D. Obligatory advanced studies and E. Other studies to be completed to fulfill the requirement of 120 ECTS.
