The Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Bristol is developing the people, skills, ideas, and technologies to shape the modern world.

Our mission is to nurture a new generation of exceptional scientists and engineers capable of tackling the world’s most pressing challenges.

As a research-intensive university, we are advancing research and development in key areas such as energy and the environment; AI and data science; and health and living. We work across disciplines to influence policy, decision-making and innovation on a global scale.

We offer a diverse range of master’s programmes across our nine Science and Engineering schools, with each programme designed to support:

Located in the southwest of England, Bristol is a city famed for historic architecture, environmental activism, and a thriving creative and cultural scene. With its own international airport and national rail and coach stations, you can easily explore the UK and Europe, with a train journey to London taking just 90 minutes.

Despite its historical charm, Bristol is at the epicenter of a thriving UK tech scene known as the ‘Silicon Gorge’. It is home to some of the biggest names in engineering and technology including Airbus, Rolls Royce, Dyson, BT, and Hewlett Packard. It is also a thriving ecosystem for tech startups like Ultraleap, Graphcore, Phasecraft, Xmos, QLM, and Imophoron, and incubators like SETsquared, Science Creates, and the Quantum Technologies Innovation Centre.

Our dedicated industry partnerships teams work to connect the faculty with industry. They collaborate to develop industry-relevant curricula and provide students with valuable exposure to real-world opportunities, all designed to enhance your skills and employability.

We offer a wide range of scholarship opportunities for both home and international students looking to pursue a master’s degree in one of our science and engineering programmes.

  • Our Think Big Scholarships offer significant tuition fee discounts to help international students fund their studies.
  • UK postgraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds can apply for Bristol Master's Scholarships.
  • Students can access funding through partnerships with organisations and alumni networks for some programmes.
