Introduction
The Engineering Management curriculum is designed for graduate engineers and scientists who will hold executive or managerial positions in engineering, construction, industrial, or governmental organizations. It includes human relations, financial, economic, quantitative, technical, and legal subjects useful in solving problems of management.
- Program Requirements
Note: Substitutions for one or more of the courses listed below are permitted if similar courses are included in the student's previous academic background. No more than nine (9) semester credits of appropriate graduate-level coursework completed at other institutions with a grade of A or B may be transferred and applied toward the total 30 credits of required and elective courses. Both substitutions and transfer of credit must be approved by the department.- Complete the following Area requirements (21 credits):

- Non-thesis option:
Complete ESM 684 and 6 credits of electives in the student's technical specialty and/or additional courses in the Management, Fiscal, or Quantitative Areas above. Electives must have the approval of the department and may include advanced courses in computer science. - Thesis option:
Complete 6-9 credits of ESM 699 and 0-3 credits of electives in the student's technical specialty and/or additional courses in the Management, Fiscal, or Quantitative Areas above. Electives must have the approval of the department and may include advanced courses in computer science
