Introduction
The educational objective of the degree program in Linguistic Computing is to provide students with the understanding of the following competencies, knowledge, and skills:
- In-depth knowledge of theoretical, methodological, and application aspects related to automatic language processing
- Ability to manage, structure, and distribute large linguistic datasets and metadata to support the automatic analysis of their semantic content
- Ability to acquire the methodologies and skills necessary for positions of responsibility in the areas of marketing, communication, and operational innovation in companies and institutions characterized by new digital business models
- Competence in at least two major European or non-European languages.

Candidates can request the “UCSC International Scholarship” while filling out the online application.
The UCSC International Scholarship is an annual tuition fee reduction promoted by Università Cattolica to foster the access of international students to degree programs.
The discount covers about 37% of the total cost.
Applicants are notified of the award by email when they receive an offer for admission.
For the academic year 2022/23, the tuition fee applicable to students who receive the UCSC International Scholarship is € 6,050.
This scholarship is automatically extended from year to year for the normal duration of the degree program. Successful candidates must maintain full-time enrolment status to finish their degrees on time. Should the candidate not graduate on the expected date, all additional costs will be at the student’s expense.
If students receive other forms of financial aid (scholarships and accommodation offered by EDUCatt), the UCSC International Scholarship will not be awarded.

This job profile can be associated with the following roles: computational linguist, digital knowledge manager, digital publishing expert, and digital library expert.
- Expert in content planning, production, and analysis for the Web
This figure has the function of supervising processes that require the planning, production, and/or analysis of content distributed and available via the Web, in particular, related to the Humanities.
The main distinctive competencies of this figure concern the ability to create and analyze data, both textual and multimedia, interconnected through ontologies already available or extended as needed for the Semantic Web.
- Expert in Customer Interaction & Experience
This figure has the function of supporting or managing business teams oriented towards improving the customer experience at all stages of the customer cycle (a commercial proposal, sales, subscription, after-sales services, etc.).
The main distinctive skills of this figure concern the ability to create and analyze interconnected data, both textual and multimedia, and to understand how to classify the needs and behavior of customers and the sales network.
