Introduction
The UVIGO "Master in Multimedia Translation" (MTM) has as its main objective to complete the training of students and professionals in translation and related fields in multimedia environments. It is oriented towards the professional application of the technical knowledge acquired and, with an eminently practical approach, tries to cover social demand and specialize graduates and graduates in the field included in the title.
Ideal Students
The recommended profile is that of a licensed/graduated person with the following characteristics:
- Concern, curiosity and sensitivity for the manifestations of languages and the different cultural manifestations of the country, as well as for the cultural, economic, social and political events that occur in the world.
- Interest in international business and institutional communication.
- Sensitivity to the appreciation of communication as a complex phenomenon in a changing and dynamic society.
- Basic skills for written and reading expression and comprehension.
- Basic skills for intercultural communication.
- Ability to accept cultural diversity.
- Basic skills and sensitivity for managing information access tools.
- Ability to generate creative solutions to problems.
- Basic social skills for teamwork.
Curriculum
Each student must take 60 credits:
- 18 credits of compulsory subjects (complete theoretical-methodological module)
- 30 credits of elective subjects (5 of the 6 subjects offered)
- 6 credits of External Practices (PE)
- 6 credits of Master's Final Project (TFM)

- Know in depth the appropriate transfer procedures and techniques for different multimedia products and know how to justify the decisions made.
- Handle the most relevant technological tools for this type of translation.
- Know in depth and describe multimedia texts.
- Identify informational problems in said texts.
- Apply documentary search protocols in multimedia translation processes.
- Use the relevant technological tools in documentary searches linked to this type of translation.
- Be able to offer different solutions in response to the culturality of the final recipients.
- Have an adequate and reliable critical method for reviewing the final product, with special attention to cultural brands.
- Know in depth different models of cultural analysis.
- Identify and delimit informational problems in translation.
- Develop and test hypotheses that explain the different translation problems.

Program Outcome
- Knowledge of the different modalities of audiovisual translation and their techniques (significance codes of audiovisual text, stages of the dubbing process, subtitling and voice-overs, translation techniques for dubbing, subtitling and voice-overs).
- Knowledge of the different computer tools to successfully carry out the translation of web pages, computer products and video games.
- Knowledge of analysis models that will allow rigorous criticism, always in search of the quality of the final translated product.
- Knowledge of the business environment that provides professional opportunities for multimedia translation specialists.
