Introduction
Training aimed at building solutions to specific industrial problems
The Master in Industrial Mathematics (M2I)* is a fusion of two official degrees, the Master in Mathematical Engineering, taught by the Universities of Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña and Vigo, and the Master in Industrial Mathematics, taught by the Carlos III University of Madrid.
In addition to the universities responsible for the two previous titles, the Polytechnic University of Madrid also participates, all seeking to take advantage of synergies and unify subjects that are already taught in specific master's degrees in engineering with a high mathematical content.
*Code of Registration of Universities, Centers and Degrees (RUCT) 4314422.
- Organized by the Universities of Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Vigo, Carlos III of Madrid and Polytechnic of Madrid, after the merger of the master's degrees in Mathematical Engineering and Industrial Mathematics.
- Specialties in Modeling and Numerical Simulation, highly demanded technologies.
- Training oriented to the construction of solutions of concrete industrial problems.
- Classes by videoconference and with video notes in numerous subjects, from the university to your home.
- Participation of companies from different sectors, which provide real cases for your Final Master's Project.
Program Outcome
The Interuniversity Master in Industrial Mathematics responds to:
- The training needs at the master's level for professionals in Industrial Mathematics highlighted by both the European Union and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in their document “Global Science Forum. Report on Mathematics in Industry”, 2008.
- The requirements of the European curriculum development project ECMIMIM (Erasmus project – Curriculum Development of the LifeLong Learning program) approved and financed by the European Union, which involve the implementation of a master's degree on the subject referred to by each of the nine partners of the project, among which is the Carlos III University of Madrid.
The scientific/technological interest of M2i is based on three pillars:
- Expand the analytical capacity and knowledge of students who will make up future research teams and professionals.
- Provide concrete skills related to the design, construction and management of specific software for at least one of the industrial sectors.
- Introduce students to research and development topics related to the subjects that make up this program.
