Introduction
Quantum physics has radically changed our understanding of nature, revolutionizing society with key discoveries for modern technology such as semiconductors and lasers, among others. However, exploiting quantum phenomena to generate new technology has only just begun.
Thanks to unprecedented progress in the control and manipulation of quantum systems, new applications rely on quantum phenomena such as entanglement and superposition, leading to the development of devices with outstanding prospects. The technology of the future will be quantum.
The Master in Quantum Technologies and Engineering is taught by UC3M in collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council ( CSIC ), the national leader in the field of quantum technologies. Together they have developed the program, the objective of which is to train the scientists and engineers of tomorrow in one of the most promising fields, whose technological applications could have a great impact and shape the society of the future. To do this, the path will be covered from basic science to the development of industrial applications, with the participation of public entities and leading companies who will help explore the broad subject matter at the frontier of knowledge, focusing on the areas of Computing and Simulation ( IBM, Banco Santander, …), Cryptography and Communications ( Telefónica, INTA, … ) and Sensing and Metrology ( Spanish Metrology Center, Arquimea Research Center, … ).
Students will be provided with the basic theoretical principles, methodology, and technological tools such as Qiskit , which will enable them to develop new Quantum Technologies. Upon completion, they will be qualified to face their future professional activity both in the most innovative business environment, as well as to access doctoral programs in which to carry out research tasks in this field.
