Introduction

The Master's Degree in Informatics and Computational Technologies prepares professionals in the area of Information Technology so that upon completion of their postgraduate studies they can develop as managers of computer centers, leaders of computer projects, entrepreneurs in the computer area or as consultants for the implementation of technologies. of information in national and/or foreign companies, university professors giving advanced teaching and researchers in technological development centers. In addition, the program is academically supported by experts in the area of national and foreign information technologies from various universities who support us as visiting professors, most of them with a PhD level.

According to the context of regional, national and international development, it is indisputable that science and technology are important elements in the development of humanity. In Aguascalientes, as in the country, changes are faced and challenges arise due to the need to have a better quality of life for the population.

Within the curricula of the Master's Degree in Informatics and Computational Technologies there are two subjects, Selected Topics in Informatics I and II, in which current issues or emerging technologies are taught; In addition, the subject programs are constantly being updated, thus ensuring the constant renewal of the students and that the general postgraduate program is cutting edge.

The subjects do not have a series, thus preventing the student from dropping out in case of not passing a subject from the previous semester.

Although the classes are face-to-face, the student receives advice and feedback via the Internet and the class material is available electronically.

The program is designed in such a way that the student who only takes the propaedeutics has the right to a Diploma and the student who takes one year of the master's degree will have the right to the Specialty in Computer Science diploma, as well as the one who completes the curricular structure will obtain the title master's degree

It is important to mention that this master's program has international agreements with the United States and Canada to complete a semester of the master's degree in these countries and/or carry out theses related to their area of study.

The lines of research offered by the Master are:

  • Engineering / systems approach for the improvement of organizational processes using IT / IS.
  • Management models and evaluation of systems and IT in organizations.
  • Software engineering technology and learning objects.

General purpose

Transmit to the student the strategic, technical and engineering knowledge of the Information Technology area that will transform them into a highly competitive agent of technological change and capable of assuming the acceleration of change in a proactive manner, for the benefit of national or international organizations where they are I developed.

Specific objectives

Knowledge Objectives:

  • That the student understands, applies, analyzes and adapts cutting-edge methodologies, tools and technologies in the construction of innovative information systems that contribute to decision-making in modern organizations.
  • That the student develop a strategic vision that allows him to plan, evaluate, integrate and efficiently direct the information technology resources of an organization.
  • Provide the student with the knowledge of the main emerging IT in the area of computing that allows him to make the appropriate technological changes within the organization.
  • Train the student in various lines of research related to the IT area so that they develop technological skills and knowledge that they can use and promote their adoption in the different organizational structures where they work.
  • Provide students with sufficient tools to help them discern between the existing technological possibilities, so that they can contribute to the solution and prevention of problems in the organization.

Knowledge

  • Strategic informatics to align information systems and technologies with the business strategy, which will allow the graduate to exercise the role of CIO in organizations.
  • Business, distributed, web-based and intelligent information systems to support the design of systems for decision-making at a tactical and strategic level, transforming the graduate into an agent of change.
  • Various formal methodologies for the planning, modeling and development of information systems, as well as administrative techniques related to the information technology area, forming proactive entities.
  • The main emerging cutting-edge technologies with the potential to be applied in the short and medium term at the national and international level.
  • The main business processes of organizations and supply chains that can be made more efficient through the use of resources related to information systems and technologies (IS/IT).
  • State-of-the-art technology related to the set of strategies and tools for knowledge management through the analysis of large volumes of data.
  • Techniques and formal tools of practical and applied research for the planning, formalization and presentation of protocols and results of degree projects.

  • Identify the potential of emerging Information Technologies to design business solutions and applications that contribute to the improvement, updating and alignment of business resources.
  • Carry out consulting, project coordination, teaching and research functions in the area of Information Technology.
  • Act as liaison between technology specialists and business administrators.
  • Plan, conduct and report applications in the field of Information Technologies and Systems.
  • Lead and coordinate technological projects with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Systematize and automate business processes through the use of technological and information tools that allow their efficient operation.
  • Develop and implement technological solution proposals that contribute to the resolution of failures or shortcomings in the IT field of companies.

Requirements to obtain the degree

To obtain the degree of Master in Informatics and Computational Technologies, the following requirements must be met:

  • Comply with the provisions of the current General Teaching Regulations, which specify among the most important:
    • Have achieved the academic credits indicated in the study plan.
    • Have prepared, defended and approved an original thesis or case study in the area.
    • Have obtained a minimum global average of 8.0 during the program.
