The University of Ferrara, founded in 1391, is one of Italy’s oldest institutions, with a long-standing tradition in education and research. In recent decades, the University of Ferrara has continued to evolve, establishing new faculties and expanding its academic offerings to include Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. The Department of Physics and Earth Sciences and the Department of Engineering are particularly successful at the European and international levels, accounting for about half the projects realized from 2014 to the present.       Admission to the Master’s Degree in Physics requires compliance with certain criteria and is subject to a verification process.

      • The Master's in Physics is open to holders of a Bachelor's degree in Physics.
      • Candidates should have a strong foundation in: Classical Physics, Relativity, Quantum Mechanics.
      • Minimum English language proficiency at level B2.

      The Evaluation Committee will assess applicants' qualifications and physics background through an admission interview to determine eligibility.

      International students seeking admission to the University of Ferrara must complete a visa request process to study in Italy.

      Entrance visa request

      All non-EU citizens living abroad wishing to apply for admission to a degree course at the University of Ferrara, have to register on the university platform that enables them to both apply to the University and to request a visa for study purposes.

      The pre-enrolment procedure is mainly divided into two steps:

      • the registration on the platform in order to create a personal account,
      • the application for admission to a degree course at the University of Ferrara.

      The University shall evaluate all requests and the eligible applicants shall be "provisionally admitted" upon their arrival in Ferrara, when it shall be necessary to hand in their original school and/or academic qualifications as proof of authenticity.
