Introduction
The Fundamental and Applied Mathematics Track (MFA) is an international Euro-Maghreb Master's degree from Intermaths and Mathmods. Receive extensive training in mathematics, developing skills ranging from pure mathematics such as algebra, analysis, or geometry to more applied mathematics such as scientific computing, probability, or statistics. The acquired skills will prepare you to model and understand complex phenomena that arise in fields like finance, biology, or physics.
This one-year program is dedicated to one specialization preparing you for academic or professional research, as well as an examination to qualify for teaching at the secondary/higher education level in France [agrégation]:
- Algebra and Geometry
- Analysis-Scientific Computation
- Probability-Statistics
MFA is part of the Erasmus Mundus Methods Exchange program. Erasmus Mundus joint masters are coordinated by a consortium of universities and offer the opportunity to pursue high-quality postgraduate studies internationally.

France Excellence Europa Scholarship Program
International students from 26 European countries may be awarded the France Excellence Europa scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree at Université Côte d’Azur for a maximum period of 12 months (M2) and 24 months (M1).
EIFFEL Scholarship Program of Excellence
The Eiffel Scholarship program is a tool developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education institutions to attract the best foreign students to graduate programs at the master's and doctoral levels.
Curriculum
Over the course of one year, you will receive extensive on-site training in mathematics, encompassing both pure mathematics and applied mathematics as well as take courses from UniCA's Mod4NeuroCog. Our main objective is to prepare you to integrate into the world of theoretical or applied mathematical research.
Through MFA, you will cultivate skills in various areas of mathematics to tackle complex phenomena found in fields such as finance, biology, and physics and specialize in one of three specific mathematical fields: Algebra and Geometry, Analysis-Scientific Computation, or Probability-Statistics. Through this specialization, you will develop a profound understanding of your chosen area and gain in-depth knowledge and expertise.
By focusing on a specific mathematical field, you will be able to explore advanced topics and applications related to your research interests. With the approval of your coordinator, you may also create a customized program comprising one specialization along with courses in, for instance, PDEs/or stochastic processes. During your studies, you will have the option to do a 3-month research internship or pursue a thesis.
