What does the master consist of?
Sustainable fishing is of great importance in our country, in the European Union and worldwide, in such a way that all countries have research and stock assessment centers where fisheries scientists carry out their activity. Therefore, you will specialize in the field of fisheries resource management. We will train you in the scientific and labor fields, receiving a modern vision of the management of fishing activity and its social implications, through updated content of the most innovative technological and scientific bases. The work of the fisheries scientists is to ensure the good situation of the resources and the sustainability of the fishing sector involved in their rational exploitation.
Who teaches it?
The ULPGC has qualified teaching and research staff to teach the degree, since studies in Marine Sciences at the ULPGC have generated professionals capable of assuming the teaching commitments of the master's degree. In addition to the teaching staff specialized in fishing issues, the dynamics of populations subject to fishing exploitation and the structure of the marine communities of the ULPGC , it has the support of specialists of recognized prestige with the collaboration of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) and of the General Directorate of Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, among others.
How do I prepare it?
This postgraduate course is face-to-face. In addition to the classes taught by the faculty, you have the Virtual Campus platform, through which online activities and virtual tutorials are carried out, assignments are submitted and access to agendas and forums, among other functions. It also allows you to carry out academic and administrative procedures. In addition, we offer you, through the University Library, face-to-face or virtual access to the information you need.
