The “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu (ULBS) is one of the oldest universities in Romania, with a tradition of over 225 years.

Achieving a competitive education process, corresponding to the quality standards regulated by the European Union, which would allow ULBS graduates to gain international academic and professional recognition is a strategic objective of the University of Sibiu. The promotion of study programs in languages of international ciculation, of teaching methods based on information technology and the generalization of the implementation of the European Transferable Credit System represent guarantees for the consolidation of the educational process.

    Admission for EU, EAA, SCC, and Romanian citizens

    Step 1: For recognition of preuniversity or higher education studies, you must comply the following procedure established by National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas.

    Step 2: Prepare the application file for university studies with the following documents:

    1. Photocopy of the recognition certificate of studies issue by National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas;
    2. Baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent;
    3. Transcript for the last 2 years of high school completed abroad, with subjects and marks/points obtained;
    4. Birth certificate;
    5. Photocopy of the identification paper: passport, proof of legal name change (if applicable);
    6. Photocopy of the medical certificate; and
    7. Portrait photo.

    Step 3: Register for studies.

    Admission for Non-EU citizens

    Romanian language prepatory year eligibility

    • You have documents that attest your citizenship from EU third countries.
    • You are a graduate of high school and you have a baccalaureate diploma or an equivalent diploma that allows general access to accredited higher education institutions for bachelor’s degree studies.

    Step 1: Prepare the application file for Romanian language preparatory year with the following documents:

    1. Application for issuing the Letter of Acceptance to Studies, presented in Annex no. 2, which is part of the national methodology (Order of the Ministry of National Education no. 3473/2017), all rubrics filled in entirely, in two copies;
    2. Baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent;
    3. Studies document;
    4. Academic records;
    5. Birth certificate;
    6. Copy of the document proving a stable residence in a foreign country;
    7. Copy of the passport; and
    8. Medical certificate.

    Step 2: Admission procedure.

    • Candidates from non-EU countries will submit the application documents in the online admission platform of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu.
    • After the admission process, our institution will send to the Ministry of Education – General Department for International Relations the valid files of the eligible candidates nominated to receive the Letter of Acceptance to Studies.
    • After the file evaluation, the Ministry of Education – General Department for International Relations will issue the Letters of Acceptance to Studies for the eligible candidates and send them to the higher education institution.

    Step 3: Register for studies.

    • To become student at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, you must pass the admission process and obtain the letter of acceptance to studies from the Ministry of Education.
    • During registration candidates will present identification and study documents in original form, together will the letter of acceptance to studies and a passport with a valid “study visa”.
