Introduction
The program is focused on the comprehensive training of human resources at the postgraduate level, who, by becoming involved in knowledge generation, validation and/or transfer activities, as well as professional training, respond with innovative and knowledge-based proposals to the demands for a solution to the problem of animal production systems, the sustainable use and exploitation of natural resources in Chihuahua, in Mexico and even beyond its borders. To this end, the program develops in the student different generic and specialty skills in four areas of specialization: Animal Nutrition, Animal Reproduction and Genetics, Natural Resource Management, and Technology of Products of Animal Origin.

Train specialized human resources with comprehensive skills so that they contribute to sustainable development, through the generation, application, dissemination and transfer of knowledge for problem solving and innovation in animal production systems and the care and responsible use of natural resources, through favor of a better quality of life in the regional and national context.
VISION 2018
The Master of Science program in Animal Production and Natural Resources is a national and international reference, with high social relevance, recognized for academic productivity, impact of its results and for the quality in the training of human resources committed to the generation and application responsible and innovative knowledge to solve problems in the agri-food sector, natural resources and the environment. It has high-level academic bodies, capable of analyzing and designing comprehensive solutions from various technological, economic, social and environmental dimensions through projects articulated in collaborative networks that contribute to the strengthening of the Faculty and the University.
ADMISSION PROFILE
Applicants to enter the Master of Science program must have a solid academic preparation related to animal science and the management of natural resources and the ability to carry out scientific research, therefore they must have:
- Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, ecology, computer science, research methods and minimal knowledge of animal production systems, as well as command of the English language at an intermediate level.
- Ability to express yourself orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, as well as handling animals, equipment, tools and laboratory reagents.
- Ability to work in outdoor activities.
- Scientific interest in livestock problems and the country's natural resources.
- Vocation of service, willingness to acquire knowledge,
- competencies, skills and desire for personal improvement.
- Values such as ethics, discipline, responsibility, honesty, dignity, humility and respect for oneself, people, institutions and nature.
GRADUATE PROFILE
The Master of Science is a professional with an ethical sense and social commitment, who possesses and integrates knowledge, skills and attitudes to perform efficiently and effectively in activities of scientific research, application, dissemination and transfer of knowledge for the integral solution of problems. complexes of the national livestock industry and natural resources.

According to their area of expertise, they have domains for:
- The implementation of reproductive management programs with the application of appropriate strategies and/or techniques
- The development of innovative strategies, processes and/or products for the intervention or manipulation of reproductive processes
- The proposal, execution and evaluation of conservation and/or genetic improvement plans with the application of appropriate tools and technologies
- The proposal, implementation and evaluation of practices, techniques and plans for sustainable use, monitoring and conservation of natural resources
- The sustainable management of pastures for animal production and its integral use
- The selection and obtaining of indicators for the assessment of the state of the environment, the sustainability of production systems and their relationship with human activities
- The implementation of mitigation and adaptation actions to environmental impact
- The implementation and evaluation of nutritional management plans with the use of biotechnological processes and/or products
- The application of the fundamentals of digestive physiology and metabolism to develop and evaluate strategies and products for animal feed aimed at improving production efficiency and product quality
- The design of feeding plans to optimize the animal's biological response and production costs, minimizing the impact on the environment
- The design and/or application of assessment schemes and classification of animals and meat and dairy products by quality and performance
- The development and/or evaluation of processes and technologies for handling and processing that ensure the quality and safety of foods of animal origin (meat and milk).
- The development of new dairy and meat products based on scientific knowledge to incorporate elements that improve their nutritional content and/or their contribution to consumer health
ADMISSION, PERMANENCE AND EXIT REQUIREMENTS
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Fill out the application available at www.posgrado.fzye. UACH .mx.
- Possess a bachelor's degree in a field related to the one you intend to enter.
- The application and approval of the EXANI - III exam, whose score will be evaluated by the evaluation committee of applicants to enter the area of interest, having to obtain a minimum of 980 points.
- Present and pass the knowledge test applied by the Secretariat for Research and Graduate Studies.
- Accredit 400 TOEFL points or the corresponding level of the Language Learning Center of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua.
- Minimum average of 8.0 in previous studies.
- Interview with the Admission Committee.
- Curriculum vitae (including copies of supporting documents).
- Deliver all the administrative documentation requested
- Three academic letters of recommendation from postgraduate level professionals.
- Institutional acceptance letter, endorsed by the Evaluation Committee of the selected area of specialization.
PERMANENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Full-time dedication to the program.
- Comply with the regulations of the UACH and the Faculty of Zootechnics and Ecology.
- Accredit, in accordance with the Graduate Regulations, with a minimum grade of 8.0, on a scale of 0.0 to 10.0, the courses committed during the semester.
- Maintain a minimum average of 8.0 and not fail two courses, or one on two occasions, during the academic training program.
- Comply with the progress of your thesis and the portfolio of evidence of progress in the achievement of competencies, in accordance with the schedule and with the endorsement of your Degree Committee.
- Not being made available to the Technical Council of the Faculty for justified reasons and is subject to a negative verdict.
REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING THE DEGREE
- Comply with the minimum number of credits specified by current regulations and the study program endorsed by the Degree Committee.
- Comply with Article 78 of Chapter XIV of the Postgraduate Regulations.
- Development and oral defense of a research work carried out as a thesis.
- To have published extensively in memory of the congress or sent for publication in journals endorsed by CONACYT at least one scientific article product of their activities in the program.
- The maximum term for presentation of the degree exam will be one year from the date on which the corresponding academic program is concluded. At the reasoned request of the tutor to the Academic Coordinator, said term may be extended for up to one more year.
- In the event that a candidate exceeds the maximum time stipulated to take the exam, they must take exams in at least two disciplinary subjects that they have already taken and that the Degree Committee defines, or take the corresponding subjects again, before authorizing their Grade test.
- Accredit 450 TOEFL points or the corresponding level of the Language Learning Center of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua.
- Successfully defend a thesis before an evaluation committee.
- Comply with the integration of the portfolio of evidence on the achievement of the domains of competences, in accordance with the Degree Committee.
